The partnership between the Bangkok-based distributor and Edale, which specialises in manufacturing narrow web printing presses and converting equipment, was sealed when Rotary Technology sold a five-colour Alpha compact flexo press just one month after the two companies started working together in August.
The sale of the press, which features UV drying, cold foil and video inspection, to EVA Enterprise Co, set a new record as the fastest by an Edale distributor to date. The press will sent out to Thailand within one month.
The Bangkok-based EVA, a label printer for the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food industries, chose the Alpha because of limited factory space, and the machine's easy set up and short web path. The guide price for the Alpha range is between £50,000 and £150,000.
Edale head of sales and marketing Jeremy Westcott said: "We have had quite a few enquiries through from Thailand and Rotary Technology approached us wanting to represent Edale in that area. We have always dealt directly with companies in the area before but it makes life a lot easier having someone on the ground. We have definitely seen an increase in good enquiries since we started working with the company."
Rotary Technology also promoted Edale at the Print Pack International Show held in Bangkok from August 31 to 3 September.
Rotary Technology sales manager Tony Law said: "The Print Pack show was a great platform to promote Edale and we received a large number of enquiries; particularly for the Gamma printing and converting line – which is ideal for cartons and other types of packaging with substrates up to 600 micron."
