"EcoPrint 2012 has been launched, because sustainability is reaching a tipping point and the print industry needs an event that is 100% focused on sustainable print business," reasoned Marcus Timson, director at EcoPrint.
The two-day event will hold discussions around the notion of reducing waste, minimising cost and increasing profit across the retail, interiors, POPs, packaging and promotional print sectors.
Exhibitors will showcase technology, expertise, applications, solutions and innovations for sustainable print production to a pan-regional attendance of agencies, brands, marketers and print service providers.
"Whether you are a wide format, offset, litho, flexo, label, gravure, screen or digital printer, and however you describe yourself, change will need to take place. "For many people, the image of sustainability is that of an individual who recycles, eats pulses, campaigned for nuclear disarmament in the 1980’s and wears unfashionable sandals. Well, this stereotype is making way for a modern, local, global, trend aware and visionary individual who wants to conduct their life and business in a different way. It is difficult to shake off the image of the past, but sustainability has definitely moved mainstream and is business focused," he stated.
"For printers, selling sustainable and innovative solutions to price focused procurement firmly embedded in a huge supply is challenging. And this in part, is why we launched the event," said Marcus.
