DSales launches Konica Minolta's Develop ineo 1250

DSales, the UK distributor of Konica Minolta's standalone Develop brand , has unveiled a Develop-labelled mono-production print system aimed at commercial print and high-volume in-plant customers.

The ineo 1250 offers users high-speed, mono output printing with superior image quality for fine line text and half-tones. DSales said these attributes made the ineo 2150 ideal for commercial print-on-demand applications, "offering significant cost saving benefits over conventional cut-sheet litho output in terms of plate-making, pre-press set-up and post-print cleaning".

The system can produce 7,500 A4 impressions per hour on substrates up to 350gsm card and SRA3 in size. Print resolution is 1,200dpi and the device uses Develop’s patented polymerised toner, which features smaller toner particles for more even distribution, better fine line definition and superior solid fills.

The ineo 1250 is designed for average monthly volumes of 400,000-750,000 and will top the 3m mark during peak times. Maximum paper capacity is 18,000 sheets.

For online finishing, the ineo 1250 offers a range of modular options. Combinations of folding, punching, booklet-making, perfect binding and staple finishing are all supported. Also available is a smart-punch unit which can staple and punch at 7,500 A4 impressions per hour.

The machine conforms to environmental guidelines set out by the International Energy Star Program.

Jonathan Whitworth, DSales’ managing director, said: "Feedback has identified that mono production still accounts for the vast majority of printed output by CRDs, inplant print rooms, data centres and commercial printers.

"[It] has been designed as a workhorse device for customer applications that still require production of large volumes of black and white documentation. The versatility, speed and robust duty cycle of the ineo 1250 make it the ideal system for our customers’ mono production needs."

Develop is owned by Konica Minolta but is marketed as a standalone brand across Europe. DSales is Develop’s largest distributor. Other Develop kit includes the entry-level ineo 165, a 16 print-per-minute printer, and the ineo+ 8000, a high-speed colour digital press.
