The product, currently priced at $2,500 (£1,536) for a single site licence, will be priced up to $3,500 from 26 August to reflect its increased capability.
However, Color-Logic sales and marketing director Mark Greeves stressed that printers would only need to buy one licence to cover all print processes, contrary to the assumption by most customers that they would need one licence per process.
"Printers with multiple print process capability can [now] offer their customers cross-media services and print economical, predictable metallic images and 250 metallic colours on a variety of machines," said Greeves.
He added that printers who purchased a Color-Logic licence at the lower price before the 26 August would still be able to use that licence to cover all technologies without having to pay any top-up fee.
The product, which was already compatible with offset, flexo, wide-format inkjet, and liquid and dry toner digital print, will shortly be adding support for screen and gravure print.
Greeves said: "The flexibility that our system has that the old Metal FX never had or other metallic systems don't is the ability to use a combination of substrates and inks to achieve the metallic effect.
"If you look at Pantone for example, they don't take into account if you're using a metallic substrate with process inks – they'll try to sell you a Pantone ink."
