The commercial printer installed the five-colour Heidelberg last month following a very busy start to the year, with strong sales months in January and February.
Mark Stokes, director at the Maidstone-based business, said: "A five-colour was a necessity as all our agencies insist on sealing work throughout.
"We already have a Xerox DocuColor 5000 digital production press but we felt that recently the print runs were just getting too high for digital."
The company also runs a B3 two-colour GTO, which it uses for stationery and NCR sets. Stokes added that having a B2 platesetter would also allow the company to produce trade plates.
Black Lion Press was founded in 1981 by managing director Bob Stokes.
