Argent Litho cuts chemistry use with Fujifilm Brillia plate investment

Wembley-based Argent Litho has invested in Fujifilm's Brillia HD Pro-V plates in a bid to cut its chemistry usage and move towards gaining ISO 14001 environmental accreditation.

The company, a long-term partner of Fujifilm, made the switch to offer a greener service to its client base, adding to its PEFC and FSC certification.

Ken Varnham, operations manager at Argent Litho, said: "When we wanted to offer our customers an even greener service, we went to Fujifilm as we have been very impressed with its quality and service over the years.

"The transition was so smooth and easy, and the PRO-V plates are so consistent that we have had no problems with them"

The 18-staff company, which was established in 1981, images plates for its press room that includes a trio of Heidelberg presses and a Komori Lithrone 28.

Argent has also started using Fujifilm's 85 HD Pro-V plate processing unit that elimates water rinsing and cuts chemical use in plate production.

Varnham added: "The finishing unit is also practically maintenance free. We anticipate it will have a big impact on the amount of chemistry we use and help us on our way to becoming ISO14001 accredited."
