Altaimage to offer wide-format printing and finishing in-house

London-based production agency Altaimage has invested £150,000 in an Océ Arizona 460GT from Canon and an Esko Kongsberg XN cutting table.

The cutting table was installed earlier this month, while the Arizona 460GT is due to be installed on 18 December.

The new kit is additional to an equipment list at the Canary Wharf facility that includes two Ricoh 901 digital printers, both installed last year, and a LumeJet S200 digital photonic printer, which was the world's first installation in July this year, following beta testing on-site.

Predominantly a pre-press business, Altaimage provides services for fine art galleries and high-quality book and magazine publishers. Customers include the National Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Phaidon, Random House, Condé Nast and the British Film Institute.

On the latest investments, joint managing director of Altaimage Rob King said: “We’ve received great feedback on the Esko Kongsberg XN cutting table so far and we’ve had a number of orders already including floor-standing display units and counter display units.

“This is ideal for book publishers that require short-run displays, stands or exhibition graphics for book fairs, for example,” he added.
