The power of print is evident at my mum and dad's house today, it being their 60th wedding anniversary. This landmark is an achievement that encompasses both longevity and levels of extreme tolerance on both sides. It is fortunate indeed that they are both "still on the twig" as my mum would put it. The Aged Ps have received lots of lovely cards, of course, including one from HM Queen herself. I can claim credit for that, having put the necessary wheels in motion with Her Majesty's office a few months back. While I haven't seen the card yet I'm informed it is the sort of high-end print product on lovely paper that one would expect on such an occasion. The card also incorporates a degree of personalisation, as the diamond anniversary message printed inside includes specific reference to today's date, a nice touch. Its arrival, complete with specific instructions and edicts for the person in charge of the local Royal Mail delivery office, certainly caused a stir at Francis [Senior] Towers. A special day when print's tactile and covetable qualities really shine through. Somehow, I don't imagine any of these cards will end up in the recycling.
