Available immediately, the uncoated paper stock Lessebo Recycled comes in two white shades and is made of 100%-recycled fibres derived from multiple sources.
The manufacturer is producing the new paper at its mill in the locality of Lessebo, Sweden with no changes required to any machinery onsite.
Chief executive Eric Sigurdsson said: “A lot of our customers have asked if we can produce recycled paper, and we can see a positive trend in the recycled market. This is totally new for us.
“This is still a premium paper as always from Lessebo, but with some restrictions as you get when you can’t specify the fibres in the same way as virgin fibres. Our ordinary brands, like Lessebo Design, are the most climate-friendly premium paper there is, but some customers demand recycled paper."
Sigurdsson said that the Recycled line was likely to be developed further in the future.
Lessebo Paper is part of the growing paper conglomerate Jool Group, which also owns Ess-Enn Timber, a majority stake in Swedish saw mill Tibro Sågverk and last month bought a stake in German papermaker Zanders Paper.
In March, it was reported that Lessebo had pulled out of a bid to take ownership of Arjowiggins’ site in Bessé-sur-Braye, France, which subsequently led to the liquidation of the plant.
