Announced today (30 May), the undertaking sees Delta sporting a new brand identity while also consolidating its broad-ranging services into three divisions: Creative, Display and Technology, which are spread across its UK and European bases.
From its headquarters in Walthamstow, North London, the company has redefined itself as a full end-to-end communications provider, with a considerable print output still in the mix.
Chief executive Jason Hammond said: “We have been expanding and growing for a long period of time and we got to a point where clients in pitches are not totally sure what we actually provide. After a few successful acquisitions, it felt like the right time to bring everything together under these three key pillars.
“It represents a rebrand, a rethink and a refocus after holding some really constructive strategy meetings internally. There has been a certain amount of investment to revamp the website and generally take us to a new level.”
A focal point of Delta’s rebrand was the development of its proprietary workflow software WorkstreamX that increases automation and reduces touchpoints for both clients and staff across the group’s global reach.
While both the Display and Technology strands of the new Delta structure will span a number of the group’s premises, all staffing and resources for the Creative strand have been moved to a base in Little Portland Street, central London.
“Our aim with Creative was to make an exciting and agency-like entity that will attract the best talent in the industry,” said Hammond. “As for our efficiency, we took a serious look at workflow in the past few months as we have some of the best print tech in the sector but had fallen behind our competitors on the software side.
“That is no longer the case. We have made ourselves more agile and efficient to be super-fit for the future. Now, a job can go on and come off a press before a human hand has touched it.”
Delta’s Walthamstow HQ is also its main printing facility with a portfolio including a large number of Luscher pre-press machines, Man Roland offset presses and 14 HP printers for large-format and roll-fed.
The group also runs onsite an EFI Nozomi C18000 single-pass LED corrugated printer which was the first to be installed in the UK after buying the machine at Fespa last year. It has recently been outfitted with a new coater that allows for both matt and gloss finishing, according to Hammond.
Further printing technology is run in-house at sites in Waltham Cross, Dublin and at the group’s Wiltshire subsidiary Superior, which will retain its own branding.
Hammond said his company would now focus on consolidation of its new structure, with potential expansion to its board and new acquisitions being considered. Delta Group employs in excess of 800 staff with a total turnover circa £100m.
